This ring is made from a precious old stock chunk of quartz from 40-50 years ago, which was revived into a beautiful gemstone. Kofu City in Yamanashi Prefecture is known as a jewelry production center. We commissioned a traditional craftsman, one of the very few nowadays who carves stone by hand. By polishing the surface of the rough-hewn stone, which is called Kakkomi, into a round shape, the lens effect makes the pattern on the back of the stone look more three-dimensional and beautiful.
